Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation to Host Fifth-Annual Giving Day to Support Nonprofits
The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation are pleased to announce that the fifth-annual online day of giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” will take place on Friday, September 18, benefiting nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida, and Otsego counties. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating must complete a brief registration form at givemv.org between Monday, April 27, and Sunday, May 31. Mohawk Valley Gives nonprofit registration is proudly sponsored by Caruso, McLean & Co.
Last year’s event—proudly presented by Staffworks and M&T Bank—marked a record-breaking show of support, uniting more than 8,100 donors who contributed over $6.5 million, making it the most impactful year yet. Those donations directly benefited 382 nonprofit organizations spanning a wide range of cause areas, including animal welfare, disability services, racial equity, education, arts and culture, health and wellness, emergency response, and more.
“The fourth year of Mohawk Valley Gives didn’t just exceed expectations—it set a new record,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Alicia Dicks. “Year after year, our community shows up in powerful ways, but this past year truly raised the bar. The generosity across the Mohawk Valley and beyond reached unprecedented levels, making this milestone moment a remarkable reflection of how deeply people care. We can’t wait to see how this momentum carries into the year ahead.”
After a record-setting year, Mohawk Valley Gives is expanding its efforts to connect with and inspire the community in new and meaningful ways. Mohawk Valley Gives 2026 will introduce an expanded “Mohawk Valley Gives University” training series, offering sessions on a variety of topics throughout the summer to better support participating organizations. In addition, a brand-new Mohawk Valley Gives storefront will offer t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other fun items so supporters can celebrate the giving day in style.
“The Irish Cultural Center has participated in Mohawk Valley Gives since it first launched and we are proud to have participated in it every year since,” said Sean Farrell of the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley. “It’s a great way for our organization to interact with the whole community. To any nonprofit organization who is not a part of this event, you need to get on board because you’re missing out on a fantastic opportunity to be part of something larger than yourself.”
Mohawk Valley Gives 2026 is hosted by the Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation and is proudly presented by Staffworks, M&T Bank and Utica National Insurance Group. Organizations interested in participating in this year’s event should visit givemv.org to fill out a brief registration survey by Sunday, May 31.
