What is a Charitable Gift Annuity?

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a donor and the Community Foundation. The donor transfers cash or securities to the Community Foundation in exchange for regular payments for the life of one or two beneficiaries, also called annuitants.

How it Works

At the end of the last annuitant’s life, what remains of the principal assets will be transferred to a new or existing fund to benefit the organization selected by the donor, helping to grow a nonprofit’s endowment.

Becoming a CGA partner provides a new giving option for donors to support your organization. It allows you to attract donors interested in meeting personal planning objectives while supporting your long-term future and building an endowment to help you carry on your organization’s mission.
