Every Dollar Counts
Help Fight Food Insecurity
Resources to support food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other human services organizations meeting increased demand.
Food insecurity remains a serious challenge in our region, and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties recognizes the importance of ensuring that all residents have access to healthy, reliable food sources.
In 2022, the Community Foundation established the Helpful Harvest Fund to support food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other human services organizations meeting increased need during the holiday season and colder months. This September, the Community Foundation proudly awarded over $106,000 in grants to 44 local organizations through the Helpful Harvest Fund.
This support couldn’t come at a more important time, as many families continue to face the challenges of food insecurity. While these grants have provided vital resources to organizations across our region, the need for assistance remains high. Nonprofits continue to step up in remarkable ways to serve and strengthen our community during this busy and demanding season.
