Women’s Fund Becomes Independent Organization

              The Women’s Fund of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. joins with The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. to announce that the Fund, which started at The Foundation, is now a separate 501(c)(3) organization.

              “As we celebrate the 55th anniversary of The Community Foundation and the 10th anniversary of The Women’s Fund, I am proud of the work The Foundation has done to help create, nurture and make The Women’s Fund an important community resource,” said Peggy O’Shea, Community Foundation president & CEO.

              Cara Fenstemacher, Women’s Fund board president said, “The Women's Fund of Herkimer & Oneida Counties is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in the Mohawk Valley by bringing together private and corporate resources to fund programs for their benefit.”

              She added that, “We have made tremendous progress over the past 10 years and feel there is great opportunity for our continued growth as an independent organization. We are grateful for the support and guidance that The Community Foundation has always given us and we will look for ways we can continue to collaborate in the future.”
