GRANTS UP TO $5,000 AVAILABLE TO ORGANIZATIONS SERVING

THE TOWN OF WEBB

The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. is pleased to announce the second annual grant round for the Town of Webb Fund, which directs its assets exclusively to organizations serving the Town of Webb.

The Fund, in its second year, appeals to the charitable interests of part-time (seasonal) residents who represent nearly 75 percent of the Town’s homeowners. The Fund is designed to fill a gap, recognized in most resort communities, where year-round and seasonal residents require more services than the year-round community alone is able to provide.

Last year, The Fund awarded over $22,000 to community organizations to support special projects and ongoing community programs including public parks, children’s theater, books and operating funds to support key community services. Initial grants were awarded to the following organizations:

· Adirondack Architectural Heritage for Friends of Bald Mountain Tower

· Arts Guild of Old Forge for the Garden Club

· CAP-21

· Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks, Inc.

· Khoros Performing Arts Company for Kids

· Old Forge Library

· Town of Webb Historical Association

“We’re thrilled that the seasonal residents and visitors have entrusted The Community Foundation to help direct their philanthropy to the year-round needs of the Town of Webb,” said Peggy O’Shea, president and CEO of The Community Foundation. “We’re looking forward to partnering with local agencies through this unique grant opportunity to help address key community needs.”

Grant applications are now available from The Community Foundation. For more information, contact Corinne Ribble, director of philanthropy, by calling 315-735-8212. The application deadline for this grant round is May 25, 2007. Grants will be awarded mid-summer and will range from $500-$5,000.
