Town of Webb Fund Doubles Number of Grantees
Awards More Than $30,000 in Grants
The Town of Webb Fund, a donor-advised fund of The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, is pleased to announce its 2007 grantees. This year the Fund increased its support to Town of Webb organizations by more than 35%. It awarded more than $30,000 in grants and doubled the number of grantees receiving awards (7 to 14).
The Town of Webb Fund directs its assets exclusively to organizations serving the Town of Webb and appeals to the charitable interests of part-time (seasonal) residents who represent nearly 75 percent of the Town’s residents. The fund is designed to fill a gap, recognized in most resort communities, where year-round and seasonal residents require more services than the year-round community alone is able to provide.
“These organizations provide vital services for the Town of Webb,” noted Peggy O’Shea, president and CEO of The Community Foundation. “We are encouraged that so many seasonal residents choose to support these organizations and invest back into the community that provides them with so much.”
The 2007 grantees provide a wide range of services including public park improvements, health care, youth activities, transportation and more. The recipients are:
♦ The Arts Guild of Old Forge
♦ CAP-21
♦ Community Transportation Services
♦ Fulton Chain of Lakes Association
♦ Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council
♦ Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks
♦ Khoros Performing Arts Company
♦ Kommunity Youth & Activity Center
