TOWN OF WEBB FUND ANNOUNCES $23,500 IN GRANTS FOR 2010

The Town of Webb Fund, a donor-advised fund of The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, made grants totaling $23,500 to 14 organizations that serve Town of Webb community members on July 22, 2010.

The Town of Webb Fund directs its assets exclusively to organizations serving the Town of Webb, and appeals to the charitable interests of part-time (seasonal) residents who represent nearly 75 percent of the town’s residents. The fund is designed to fill a gap, recognized in most resort communities, where the combined needs of year-round and seasonal residents are greater than the year-round community alone is able to provide.

“These organizations exemplify the diverse programs and services that are available in the Town of Webb. This community has the same complex needs as any other, and the full- and part-time residents’ support of the fund is testament to their dedication to the town,” noted Peggy O’Shea, president and CEO of The Community Foundation.

The recipients of the 2010 Town of Webb Fund grants are:

  • Adirondack Economic Development Corporation received a grant in support of its Town of Webb Small Business Institute, which will offer business classes to small business owners in the town.
  • Arts Guild of Old Forge received support for their exhibits and programs that enrich the lives of both residents and visitors.
  • CAP-21 received a grant to maximize the fundraising abilities of not-for-profit organizations in the town through their grantwriting program.
