THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF HERKIMER & ONEIDA COUNTIES, INC.

AWARDS MORE THAN $50,000 IN GRANTS

  

The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. (The Community Foundation) is pleased to announce three grants totaling $52,324 to organizations in Herkimer and Oneida counties.

  • Community Transportation Services of the Town of Webb received $29,235 to purchase a wheelchair accessible van;
  • Helping Animals Live Organization (HALO) in Little Falls received $10,000 to purchase a new high-efficiency furnace and ventilation system for their cat residence;
  • Parkway Senior Center in Utica was awarded $13,089 for upgrades to its fitness center.

Peggy O’Shea, president and CEO of The Community Foundation, said, “These three organizations speak to the wide variety of community issues that The Foundation helps our nonprofit partners address. From health care to quality of life to animal welfare, we exist to help our local institutions make communities in Herkimer and Oneida counties the best they can be.”

The Community Foundation has been a force for improving lives and promoting philanthropy throughout Herkimer and Oneida counties since 1952. The Foundation has made more than 3,800 grants totaling over $26.8 million in support of causes ranging from education to health care, the arts to the environment. Grants are generated by the more than 240 funds that comprise The Foundation’s endowment, established and advanced by area individuals and families.
