TOWN OF WEBB FUND ANNOUNCES $18,000 IN GRANTS FOR 2009

OLD FORGE, NY – The Town of Webb Fund, a donor-advised fund of The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, is making grants totaling $18,000 to 16 organizations that serve Town of Webb community members.

The Town of Webb Fund directs its assets exclusively to organizations serving the Town of Webb, and appeals to the charitable interests of part-time (seasonal) residents who represent nearly 75 percent of the town’s residents. The fund is designed to fill a gap, recognized in most resort communities, where year-round and seasonal residents require more services than the year-round community alone is able to provide.

“These organizations provide an array services for the Town of Webb, many of which are specific to the area,” noted Peggy O’Shea, president and CEO of The Community Foundation. “It’s truly inspiring to know that both seasonal and year-round residents choose to support and invest in these organizations.”

  • The Arts Guild of Old Forge received a grant to enhance their art programs.
