THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF HERKIMER & ONEIDA COUNTIES, INC. ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR TOWN OF WEBB FUND
The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. is pleased to announce the third annual grant round for the Town of Webb Fund, which directs its assets exclusively to organizations serving the Town of Webb. The Fund appeals to the charitable interests of part-time (seasonal) residents who represent nearly 75 percent of the Town’s homeowners. The Fund is designed to fill a gap, recognized in most resort communities, where year-round and seasonal residents require more services than the year-round community alone is able to provide.
Last year, The Fund awarded $18,000 to community organizations to support special projects and ongoing community programs including arts programs, youth activities, transportation, technology purchases and operating funds to support key community services. In recent years grants were awarded to the following organizations:
- Arts Guild of Old Forge
- CAP-21
- Central Adirondack Search and Rescue Team
- Community Transportation Services
- Fulton Chain of Lakes Association
- Fulton Chain of Lakes Association
- Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks, Inc.
- Kommunity Youth and Activity Center
- North Woods Community Center
- Old Forge Library
- Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corporation
- Town of Webb Historical Association
“We are honored to be able to help share community needs with seasonal residents and visitors to the Town of Webb and offer them a vehicle in which to direct their charitable giving,” said Peggy O’Shea, president & CEO of The Community Foundation. “The local service agencies supported by the fund are the bonds that sustain the health and vibrancy of the community.”
Grant applications are now available from The Community Foundation, or by clicking here. For more information, contact Lara Sepanski, program associate, by calling 315-735-8212. The application deadline for this grant round is April 23, 2010. Grants will be awarded mid-summer and will range from $500-$5,000.
Since its inception in 2005, the Town of Webb Fund has awarded grants to 20 organizations, totaling more than $101,000.
